The Bear Cave Retreat

Nestled in woods of Amador county sits a beautiful 2 bedroom 1 bath cabin with the purpose of helping ministers retreat, relax, and refresh from the daily grind of ministry. Let’s face it, the last few years have been very difficult on all of us during this time of COVID, political divide, and  so many other stressors that have been on the rise. The times that we are in have been particularly difficult for ministers, navigating the calling of ministry amidst such political polarization and a worldwide pandemic. As a minister and a therapist I have noticed that we (ministers) are not very good at self-care. Studies have shown that pastors and ministers are more likely than other professions to have heart attacks, strokes, and develop diabetes due to the stress that is associated with the job of ministering to our congregations. With that in mind, we have established a personal retreat for ministers to use when they need a reset, a place to unplug from the world and regroup to be able to better connect to God and serve their congregations and communities better. This retreat can be used as a solo retreat or as a marital retreat to reconnect with God and their spouses. With the generosity of private donors this retreat can be used by ministers at no cost to them for 2 nights and three days. If you are a minister interested in getting away to our fully furnished cabin in the woods, to have a mountain top experience of growing closer to God through nature, to unplug and take some time for yourself, email us to schedule your 2 night experience at TheBearCaveRetreat@gmail.com.
